Photos of What Parisians are Wearing - Winter 2008/09
Styles seen on the streets of Paris for the Winter Season 2008-09.
Major Trend : The Sweater Dress... Everywhere. Dressed down during the day with riding boots, dressed up at night with wide belts and heels.
The Striped Sweater Dress - embraced by the young. Worn alone or over jeans and tights.
Even Parisian Mothers are rocking the sweater dress.
If a sweater dress is "too clingy" for comfort, a loose knit, shift dress is also popular on the streets of Paris.
Boots, Boots, ...
...and More Boots.
This year the younger set embraces "Daisy Dukes" over tights and funky boots, instead of the Parisian staple - the mini-skirt.
Fur and Leather are big this year... Think "Biker Chic".
The Parisian Staple: Scarves.
Pants: Skinny, straight legs with ballet flats or tucked into boots.
Accent colors are royal blue and deep purple. Lots of monochrome black with colorful ballet flats. Berets are making a comeback.
Must-have Accessories: Vanessa Bruno Bag. This simple, sequined bag in a multitude of colors was the purse seen all over Paris. I lost count of how many of these bags I saw on the street.
Purchase at Printemps. 70€ for canvas, and 270€ and up for leather and suede.
Must-have Accessories: Apple iphone . Parisians LOVE the iphone. Pass any cafe and you'll see someone on an iphone.
Stylish at Any Age.
Sneakers: Converse "Chuck Taylor" All-Stars or Sleek, Flat Pumas
Parisian Men: Always Dashing in Sports Coats. No Signs of Nylon Jackets Here.
Pink is a hot color for men's dress shirts and ties.
Trends on the Street. The photo below shows many of the trends as seen on a typical Paris street corner - boots, pink male dress shirt, fur accent scarf, ballet flats, and royal blue as an accent color.
